Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals with the ability to communicate well with older people who have a range of needs, disabilities and frailties. Activities will take place daily, so there will be a choice of times that volunteers can assist. Volunteers with an interest in setting up and running special interest groups would also be welcome.

Typical activities would include: playing games, arts and crafts, armchair exercises, bingo and quizzes. However, there would also be opportunities to facilitate special interest groups such as local history or gardening.  This is a fantastic opportunity for volunteers to be involved from the outset and have a creative input.

Suitable for over 18’s who have the maturity to communicate well with older people. The scheme has full disabled access.  Induction training and support will be provided by the scheme assistant.
Suitable for small groups of volunteers and for long or short term commitment.
