Healthwatch Derbyshire is the local health and social care champion, with charity status. As an independent, statutory body, we have the power to make sure NHS leaders and other decision makers listen to local feedback and improve standards of care.

Recruitment is currently taking place for new Board members to join our established Board of Directors with the purpose of ensuring Healthwatch Derbyshire continues to be managed efficiently, effectively and in line with its constitutional and statutory obligations.

As a director/trustee you will be responsible for contributing to the strategic aim of Healthwatch Derbyshire, ensuring resources are in place for the organisation to continue to achieve its objectives.

Joining the Board provides a great opportunity to help make a real difference to delivering service improvements and benefits for communities across Derbyshire.

Time commitment to this role is approximately eight hours/month. 

 In this round of recruitment, we are keen to continue to strengthen the skills of our Board with members who possess experience and/or knowledge in the either of the following areas:

  • Mental health
  • HR processes
  • Finance
  • Development and management of websites and communication strategies.

We welcome applications from candidates from under-represented groups within the county and who have the skills to further enhance Healthwatch Derbyshire’s presence and reputation as the local health and social care champion.

Please note, we are able to facilitate hybrid meetings whereby a small number of attendees can join in the meeting from our office base, and others can join in remotely.

Healthwatch Derbyshire Executive Board positions are voluntary and unpaid but we do pay out of pocket expenses.
